The latest report July 2019 on the landscape of our public sector.
Headteachers have increased to 3.5% which equates to about 90 Headteachers in the last year. This is positive.
However, context is everything, and these are just numbers. Please bear in mind:
U.K. Workforce statistics around 22.8% BAME
Teaching workforce 8.7%
And the most important factor the AAT recommended that the ONS should include regional context. In addition, not a single school reports their data which means U.K. stats remain the domain of report writers to strategic school stakeholders.

It’s encouraging to see the increase in headteachers, but it is important that we consider regional context and ethnic diversity within these numbers.
